When Scholars Disagree…

Unfortunately, some of the dates given in standard study material are based on deductions discredited by new discoveries, thus we disagree with some of the traditional dating.

What About Sources?

The “when” of Biblical events gives as much insight as the “where,” thus we take Bible chronology very seriously. Dates are interpreted from archeology, secular history, and deductive reasoning, but less so. Some dates even have to be assumed. A key to dating Biblical events that, surprisingly is seldom used, is the fact that the Hebrew calendar is lunar. Given the correct year, there are mathematical formulas that can date the new moons and thus when various festivals occurred. (There are also web sites that can give you the phase of the moon for any date you select, which is easier.)
